Hi, I'm Cathy Heller and in 2007, after being dropped from 2 major record deals, I read a Billboard article about indie artists licensing their music. It was always my goal to use my voice and music to impact the world, but I’d never thought about doing it in this way.
And then, it became so clear. What better way to use my talents and gifts than to serve the world and other people needs through using my music to help tell beautiful stories. I knew the success wouldn’t come over night and that I would have to commit. So that’s what I did.
A few years in, I started making multi-6 figures through licensing my music. Now, 12 years later, I have seen how so many other doors have opened for me because of that success. It is so important to find your way in, instead of giving up.

Cathy Heller, Founder & President
Cathy Heller has become a go-to in the licensing world. She started out pitching her own music, which got her national fame. She was featured in Billboard, LA Weekly, Variety and Music Connection Magazine for having licensed her songs over hundreds of times to film, TV and ads. She went on to start her own licensing company, Catch the Moon Music, and she's been very successful now pitching other artists.
Cathy is casting a refreshing, positive, everything's possible glow upon the music biz. It's the best time to be a DIY artist as far as she's concerned. With Cathy's help, artists really can turn their passion into profit.
John Clinebell, Director of Music
Based in Los Angeles, California since 2005, Producer / Songwriter John Clinebell has had work featured on FOX, ABC, CBS, ESPN, MTV, Wondery, on international commercials (for Starbucks), films (“W Gli Sposi”, “Flesh On Fire”), in corporate training and promo videos for Microsoft and Ring, and heard in-store at major retailers around the world. John currently serves as Director of Music for Catch The Moon Music, working hard to connect the dots between independent artists and opportunities in sync.
Sonnet Simmons, Director of Licensing
Sonnet Simmons is a singer and songwriter, who grew up in LA, attended UCLA where she studied opera, jazz, and pop. It wasn’t until she found songwriting, that she found her true voice as an artist. Sonnet has placed songs in such campaigns as Overstock.com, Coca-Cola, GoDaddy.com, Lee Jean, and in TV shows like Younger, Katy Keene, Riverdale more… She garnered the love of America as a top contestant on ABC’s Rising Star with Josh Groban. Most recently, Sonnet has been seen and heard singing at the Hollywood Bowl and Los Angeles Disney Concert Hall with Kamasi Washington and Miles Mosley. Along with singing and songwriting, Sonnet is Director of Licensing at Catch the Moon Music, and has helped hundreds of other artists place their songs and create a living doing what they love.
