Face it. We LOVE when things are simple.
But when it comes to writing a hook or a chorus, we often do just the opposite, don't we?! It's like we have to fill up every space and moment with more words and illustrations to drive home our point.
I think most of us know in our hearts that a simple message is often better!
So why aren't we writing more songs like this??
Because simple is often times more difficult.
Steve Jobs said it best, "Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains."

What a great reminder, right? One of the most powerful tools you have for writing a great song is using simplicity to convey your message.
Simple is powerful.
Simple is elegant.
Simple packs a punch.
Sometimes the strongest messages are conveyed using the most effortless, direct words.
